They changed management or ownership.check in at 3pm.they told me 30 minutes.bull! @#$. Waited 2 hours and room still wasn't ready.all new staff except 1 or 2.still pleasant to talk too

Not happy with the restaurants staff at all. Especially the one by the beach. They needs to be trained on costumer service.

Awesome stay at Viva, in Samana. Not Puerto Plata. No kids, place was immaculate, the entertainers, as well as the rest of the staff were so friendly and hospitable. Nice accommodations for their nightly rates. The club, was so much fun after each nightly themed live music show we would go there. Shout to restaurant mgr. Santos, always so helpful, Marisela at Fusion, Victor and Pedro - The best bartenders, Dexter, and Orquidea and Deylin- entertainment. Such hard workers. The unfortunate part is that the place is full of Europeans that don't tip. Shameful.
Things that can use improvement: another bar by the beach, or more waiters by the beach area, since the lines can get pretty long. Also, reservations or a list for a la carte restaurants. It gets pretty hectic when you have to wait and the host has to try to remember the order of the guests. Overall I would definitely go again, I loved it so much that I attempted to book an extra night when we were suppose to leave but they were all booked!

The most incredible vacation my wife and I could have asked to go on. The people here like Omar, jaywalk, daddy cool, bubbaloo, and floki were absolutely unbelievable. They made this such a special vacation! The resort is 5 star for sure, very clean, the rooms were modern and the kept the place VERY clean.

And the food. Oh my god the food was amazing, It's not just good for Dominican food, it's fantastic food PERIOD.the steak was always cooked perfectly, they do different themed buffets all the time, the Italian place was heavenly. Not one single complain other than the fact we could stay longer hahaaha.

Overall a very nice resort, I have stayed at nicer Viva Wyndham spots in DO (Dominicus Palace) but overall it was great to try somewhere new. I recommend excursions for snorkeling in nearby Sosua.

This place was beautiful and made for a super fun week with my friends. Food was good but got kinda old by the end of the week. DADDY COOL was over entertainment and did an AWESOME job! He’s a super high energy guy that made the night and day activities tons of fun. Staff was helpful except for the front desk who kept giving us false information.

The resort is much smaller than we are used to.the room were very clean. The food was awesome and the staff were very friendly.we really enjoyed our stay.

It is fantastic the resort my wife and I loved the entertainers are the best of the hotel, but.you are in the disco of the hotel and a guy while I go to the bathroom insinuated sex to my wife the wilfry boy take

Nice, clean and small, but services are non-existent. Food was surprisingly good and well presented. That’s it for the good stuff. Wifi is next to non existent, so if you need it while you’re here, you may want to rethink. Restaurants are small, and while I don’t normally mind a short wait given that there are no reservations, one of our waits started at 7 and we didn’t sit down at the table until 9 so dinner ended at 10: 30 by which time I just wasn’t hungry. Wait staff are poorly trained, move at a snails pace at best, insufficient staff manning the restaurants, it took the one restaurant over 20 minutes to set up a table while several people were waiting. If you have to wait, which is mostly the case unless you show up when they open, you wait outside the door looking at all the people who are eating. This is disturbing whether you’re the one waiting or the one eating. Staff having loud conversations with each other while their serving you seemed quite rude. Having a hostess is great, but they really aren’t that at all, they set tables and take orders let alone having a hostess station at the back of the restaurant so you are walking by people who are eating so they can tell you how long the wait will be. Don’t look for coffee early in the morning unless you make it in your own room or go to the Vkitchen restaurant and ask for a take out.

In summary a nice resort but needs a fair bit of work. This is only day 3 of seven days but frankly I’ve had enough and wish this was over.

Definitely not a 4 star, I would rate it at three with potential.

The entertainment staff definitely make this place! Pokemon, China, Sexy Shampoo, Mosquito, theres more just cant name all of them:) Also dont forget about the photo guys, Emmanuel and Junior, and lots of friends in the buffet but have a horrible memory for names the main one i remember is Anderson, and Wan Carlos. And last but not least the DJ which was absolutely awesome DJ Shao! When you go you will see what I mean! Everyone is awesome the food is absolutely amazing, couldnt ask for better! The beds and pillows are super comfy and the shower is really nice too!

Buena atención, desayunos y comidas en buffet, riquísima. Bonita habitación, playa preciosa, es un lugar bien relajante. Lo recomiendo! Es d excelencia y calidad d servicio d parte d sus empleados!

Super endroit pour les vacance c est petit mais il y a de l ambiance sans deranger nos nuit de someil. Le buffet est exellent peut de choix mais toujours tres bon! J'y ai mieux manger qu'au Mexique.

Tres bel endroit pour les vacances, service courtois, bon confort, animation tres bonne, le resto italien excellent avec un bon chef d'equipe, le bar de la plage avec augusto et olvi vous serez bien servi, le buffet et bien, le resto mexicain est bien aussi, on a vraiment apprecier nos 15 jours, belle place sécurisé pour marcher et une place a min pour magasiner.

Amazing vacation! We were so pleased with the cleanliness, kind and helpful staff and the relaxing and beautiful surroundings. Restaurants were lovely and the pool and beach were amazing. Je suis aller à cette hôtel, et à chaque fois je ne regrette pas d y avoir été. Bouffe excellante, plage tres belle, propreté incroyable des chambre et des lieu, les activités et les staf nous s en mettent de toute les couleur.j ai hate d y retourner le 14 mai pour revoir tous le monde et passer un très beau moment dans un hotel intime.

This place was AMAZING! I have never seen so many nice, friendly, go out of their way kind of people all in one place, ever. Everyone went exceptionally over the top. The rooms were clean and neat. Melvin and Ohdelvis made amazing drinks. Garrison was so friendly and welcoming at the front desk which made us instantly forget about our stressful airport experience before this. And if you want memories to bring back home Jefrey is your man! He took some of the best professional pictures and you could tell in every picture that that was his passion. The entertainment staff put on great night shows. I loved the small vibe this resort had. It let you be able to really get to know other people staying and the staff. It was not right on the beach but it has a nice paved path to get there which is a 3 minute walk. But so worth it as the beaches are gorgeous with soft sand and the seaweed is raked often. I cant comment much about the food as I am a very picky eater but I do know their alfredo, steak, and mashed potatoes were amazing! I definitely will be going back!

This is one of the cleanest resort we have stayed at, rooms, restaurants, grounds and beach. The food at the restaurants and buffet are excellent, flavourful and generous portions. We have enjoyed the staff and activities. The tour sales people are respectful but also work on commission so they are around if you want them. The local shops have the basics and prices vary from vendor to vendor. We will definitely book again at this hotel.

Rude! This hotel had a beach party until 12: 30am. Blasted the music and the base so loud we could hear all of the words to each song in the next hotel, where we were trying to sleep. So inconsiderate.

Great rooms and food, the beach vendors are very forceful and do not accept a polite decline. Nonetheless, having a great time! The à la carte dining options are fantastic!

I had a wonderful time! I would recommend staying here to anybody. I normally don't leave reviews but I really enjoyed myself here. The entertainment was my favorite part! Black panther was the best. Had me laughing and engaged every night. Definitely going back!
