Organic, both in the product and the efforts. This isn't a commercial coffee place, it's a group of local growers trying to preserve and protect there land and their heritage. Very educational, authentic, and fun. Plus, I got to drink some really good coffee.

Amazingly romantic. A great place to get away for a few day to unwind and relax. The food is some of the best I have had and the accommodations are magnificent, not to mention the views!

Hotelito para escapada eco. Un sitio único en el que estarás totalmente integrado con la naturaleza. El baño y las habitaciones completamente de madera. El amanecer y el atardecer lo puedes contemplar desde tu cama. Tienen mosquitera, se sentía y olía un poco de humedad y los grillos en altavoz. Si quieres naturaleza, ese es tu lugar. Se puede ir en pareja y con niños. No es muy apto para silla de ruedas, no es imposible, pero sería super incómodo.

Inspiring visit, where local people are encouraged to grow and market coffee and other local products. Great hands on experience planting coffee beans and talking part in grinding (huge pestle and mortar) coffee beans that had been roasted in front of us. Once the coffee had brewed we got to taste it - one of the best cups of coffee I have ever tasted.

Excelente lugar para una de las mejores vistas de lo que es Puerto Plata lugar mágico lugar encantador es algo inimaginable de verdad la belleza que se puede ver en ese lugar yo quedé sorprendido Porque hay lugares que nunca había visto ni de la forma en que se pueden ver ahí un frío muy agradable pero solamente la carretera es un poco caótica está dañada ya que no tiene asfalto y se hace un poquito difícil llegar por esa situación

You look for a real native living experience, for your first arrival on the island Hispaniola, than this location is it! The Tubagua Ecolodge is soo basic and simple living, that you can feel like a explorer in #primitive #technology, but with a little bit comfort like warm shower and cold pool and community toilet and of course: WiFi! The owner family is living together with you and has a handfull of friendly staff. They offer you a good meal for morning and dinner. But you need a car to go to there, because it's a little bit far from the beach of Puerto Plata or Sosua, and it's in the hillside. This gives you most spectacular views from the highs to the Atlantic beach and really amazing view while wake up in the morning, directly from your wide open, fresh air and no-air-conditioning single room under the obligatory mosquito mesh. You will really enjoy this place, but you should not aware 4 hotel comfort, because it's super eco-friendly expensive.

This place is absolutely beautiful. Fantastic views. Food was delish. They really make you feel at home. To get there is a little tricky. The roads are not great but is worth it. Will come back.

Very nice visit. The food was delicious (for the vegans aswell) and rooms were clean. A little camping like experience in beautiful environment. Nightly noise of the jungle or otherwise the closeness to nature doesn't disturb too much. Host and staff were reallu friendly.
