The entertainment team are the best. They are friendly and funny. What I needed in a vacation.
I loved the shows and each one of the entertainment team especially Yanelys, Jorje, Dj Pedro, Waldo, Julio, Veronica, Elaine, and Alfredo.
And the best waiter. Hansel.
Just check the activities sheet each day and don’t miss any!
The pool is great, the beach is magnificent.
Food was great, overall.great. I would go there again

I traveled alone to BlueBay Villas Doradas and had an absolutely wonderful time. Food at the buffet was much better than expected and the a la carte restaurants were easy to book and met expectations. Always items on the menu available at a charge as well if you want to really indulge.

Overall the best part about the stay was the staff. Elvin and Elfris were so warm and attentive in the dining room. I jave to give a big shoutout to entertainment staff above all. While I spent some of my days by the quiet pool near the spa when I really wanted to just relax, the atmosphere around the main pool is unmatched. The guys and girls of the entertainment staff had everyone, even the most timid and unsure patrons up and dancing and involved in games. Each day was something different, and night time entertainment was just FUN! I have to say that Waldo was a standout. Always smiling. Always welcoming. And constantly dancing!

Tout le personnel est vraiment gentil et acceuillant. Ils font tout pour que nous allions de belles vacances.

L'animation est juste correcte. Pas de jeux fous, pas harcelant. Si on ne veux pas, ils n'insistent pas. J'adore danser, et les animateurs m'ont fait danser dans la journée et ils ont mis mes demandes spéciales.

Un gros merci à Pedro, Jorge, Chiki Monkey, Yanelys, Julio, Alfredo, Veronica, Elaine, Waldo y Raul.

Les photos suite le site datent probablement de 10 ans. C'est bien entretenu, mais c'est plus vieux que ce qu'on voit sur les photos.

On a l'impression que le discothèque est sur le site, mais on doit aller à l'extérieur.

La nourriture est bonne même au buffet.

Globalement, très belles vacances!

Es un excelente hotel las actividades son muy buenas los juegos son muy divertidos como el volivor en la piscina y en La Playa el darts nomber el mini golf la herradura la boccia el frisbee en la playa tan bien nos gustó muchos los aeróbicos y los extrechin y los show de la noche son muy lindo y los chicos de la animación fueron los que alegraron nuestra estadía allá en el hotel yanelys julio dj Pedroelaine y Raúl y todo los de más la comida es buena la bebida es excelente y las habitaciones son muy linda y cómoda gracias?

Our room flooded and we found out that they knew the room flooded a few days before. It took hours for them to change our room. Spent most of the day waiting with our bags packed for them to tell us our room would be ready in two hrs over and over. Definitely won't be coming back.

BlueBay Resort was super fun! Waldo is great; super friendly, funny, takes time to get to know the people staying at the resort, he's also a great entertainer. Overall, great experience at the resort. We love Waldo!

Desde que llegué al lugar la primera vez, senti la tranquilidad y la elegancia que reina en el lugar. El lobby, con telares blancos, sillones cómodos y música relajante, va invitando al descanso. Cada detalle en la decoración ha sido puesto con esmero. Las habitaciones, con elegante decoración, invitan al relax y al amor.
 
Un espacio para disfrutar de unas vacaciones sin los ruidos característicos de los otros resorts, sin música estridente…. Todo invita a la intimidad y disfrutar de los placeres de la vida.
 
En todo el hotel tienen ambientado, espacios para cenas románticas. Yo te recomiendo disfrutar de las de la playa, porque se suma la magia de la arena y el sonido de las olas del mar.

Long story short, this resort is good. We had a lot of fun and no kids. It is small, and there are a lot of options to spend more money. A little run down in certain areas. They will charge you for a safe, $3 American per day. You get wifi for ONE device. You can't share, ONE device. If you want to connect extra devices, it is $3 American per day per device. The rooms were a fine size for two people. Two floor complex with six rooms, two on the main floor and four upstairs. There is a small convenience store on site and you can get booze, cigarettes, meds and really any extras you want (I bought a pool lounger for $8 American!). This is also where you get the beach towels. There is also a mall to buy souvenirs less than 2 mins away from the front of the resort. The entertainment staff are very good at their jobs. Waldo and Elaine were not just friendly, but also personable. There is a bar at the lobby, but it is not included. You get a mini bar in the room, two sodas and two beers. They will not refill this ever again. They will bring you four litres of water each day. Food was good. Lots of options; fish, chicken, soups, pasta bar, fresh fruit, cheeses, deli meats, bread bar and dessert options. Beach was nice, but again, small. They often ran out of chairs for the beach and the bed canopy's on the beach are limited and hard to get. You will be constantly approached on the beach by peddlers selling goods. Haggle with them if you want something, they may say no, but will come back the next day at your price. They work for a company that gives them a small percent of the money they bring in. I got a massage from Cecilia, she was great. Bought cigars as well. The sales people are very friendly, but do not give up. Every 5 minutes someone is interrupting you. We often went to the pool to escape this. The beach bar is good and has snacks, pretty good fried food when you have had many drinks. There are two main pools next to each other and the beach. It never felt busy. We met many other fun travelers as everyone there is out for a good time. A la carte restaurants were good, but not ever full, and booked several days out. I booked my husbands birthday at the seafood restaurant and paid for a cake and bottle of sparkling wine. They served us well and the cake was DELICIOUS (I chose vanilla cake with pineapple filling) and they added a giant sparkler which was a nice surprise. Night entertainment was always a blast. Front desk staff were not friendly and actually put a damper on our trip. The first day we thought this place was a joke. But after 1.5 days we were comfortable and happy to be there. The ad mentioned foam parties, but they only run every few weeks, so we did not have the opportunity to attend. Overall this was a good place. The majority of the staff are kind and make sure you are taken care of. I would return if the opportunity presented itself. We paid approximately $1150 Canadian each for seven days.

Beware: This Score and Trip Advisor are boosted by Timeshare owners. Resort is outdated and in disrepair. We fought to leave on our first day and the desk manager told us he has been trying to move to another hotel too. Other guests moved on day 2. Air Canada Rep told us that we got what we paid for with a 2-3 star hotel, but it lists "Nightly Show" was playing random music and encouraging guests to get up and dance. Our Superior room was downgraded to Standard because we paid the travel company and not the desk staff. Everything listed as inclusive is available but extra.

We have been here for 5 days so far and 2 more left to go. For the price, it is alright. However, BlueBay Villas needs updates on almost all areas- rooms, washrooms, pools, pathways etc.

The beach is ok. Nightly shows are mediocre. Food is good overall, but you can tell some are recycled and not fresh. Their yorgurt and sausage at the breakfast buffet are the best! A la carte restaurants (Asian, Sea Food, and Grill) are a bit disappointing.

Most staff work hard and friendly. I notice, at the same time, there are some who just stand around all day and do nothing.

Hotel's location is good as it is next to a local mall and right across the road from the golf course and the tennis court.

You can take a taxi to go into the town of Puerto Plata. Uber is also available. Taxi is negotiable. They usually ask around US $15 to town and back. But, you can negotiate for less than US $10.

We find the majority of people coming here are Canadians, especially from Quebec. I have not met a single American yet for some reason.

People here like cash. Credits cards are not appreciated. Before you come down here, you should go to your bank and get lots of small bills for tips- US $1 and $5 bills or 50 and 100 Dominican Pesos. We brought US $150, and that is plenty for our tipping for a week.

Beach is not as clean as the Cuban ones, but its vista is absolutely stunning. You can swim but the beach here is not meant for snorkeling because of stronger waves and cloudy water.

You will be approached by many peddlers on the beach. You can politely refuse; then they will not bother you. But please be generous and give them some business if you could. They work hard to feed their family and walk miles with heavy loads on their shoulders. You will feel the pain and hardship of the people in DR here.

Beach is the property of DR government. So you take care of your belongings as the resort is not responsible for any damage, theft or loss on the beach.

You get a password for free internet access for your stay for ONE device only. If you want additional device for internet connection, you have to buy a daily access for 160 pesos or US $3.

I love the blue sky and endless ocean lines of DR. I love the settings and natural beauty of Playa Puerto Plata.

For the 4 star hotel, however, I would give a 4 star review ranking.

Sehr schönes kleines Hotel. Sehr schön angelegte Anlage. Der Strand ist traumhaft und ladet zum chillen ein. Sehr angenehmes Personal, was einem jeden Wunsch ablesen tut, Dabei jedoch nicht aufdringlich ist. Besonders die Mitarbeiter im Restaurant sowie des Animationsteam sind besonders hervorzuheben. Vielen Dank besonders an Mister Alfredo, Veronica, Elaine, Pedro, Jorge, Julio sowie Elvin Rafael, Antonio, Nilson.

This is a wonderfull place, excellant staff good food and beingb adults only was great, the beach is good to, and the pool bar.

El servicio de la recepcion fue excelente.

Had a great time there! I got the supreme room which only meant we got fresh beach towels every day. Expect someone from circle one to pull you into a sales presentation. They have a super cool animal preservation space with ducks and 2 turtles! Buffet was good nothing special. They didn’t bother cleaning our room one day and never replaced our burnt light bulb in our room despite 2 requests. It was very slow maybe 1/3 full so service was great

El mejor lugar que he estado, me fascinó todas las atenciones que me ofrecieron. En el restaurante fueron muy serviciales.
Las piscinas y la habitación estuvieron limpias, la playa fue mi lugar favorito, disfrute mucho del sol. Lo bueno fue el show, waoo. Pero lo mejor que tiene este hotel son los empleados quienes siempre tienen una sonrisa.

Me encantó, el servicio al cliente es estupendo los animadores, y todo el personal del hotel es fantástico.la comida es excelente y las habitaciones también.

En el Check in fue muy bueno, nos trajeron toallas refrescante cuando llegamos.
Todas las áreas estaban limpias. La habitación era acogedora y cómodo, la comida estuvo buena al igual que las bebidas.
Me gustó mucho todas las atenciones al cliente que tienen los empleados, te escuchan atentamente y si necesitas algo hacen lo posible por buscarlo.
Es un lugar ideal para relajarse, descansar y olvidarse del mundo. Me gusta mucho el concepto sólo para adultos.

Compré plan platinum y fue botar mi dinero, los de paquete standar tenían igual privilegio por lo que no vale la pena, fui por una reserva de restaurante y me dicen ya no había, la habitación fue muy distinta a la de promoción, el acceso a bebidas internacionales solo se limitaba a black y res label, la comida no fue de lo mejor y el servicio de limpieza y reposición de minibar se tomaron su tiempo para pasar. Ahora entiendo por qué no prospera el turismo en Puerto Plata.

Servicio de calidad, empleados muy amables.me hubiera encantado que la hora de check out fuera a las 3, porque es algo apresurado al medio día. Fuera de eso, totalmente recomendable, sobre todo si ni quieres ir con niños.
