Baraonda Restaurant & Lounge / El Loro

We had outstanding crab tagliatelle and a shrimps with rice here. The restaurant is very beautiful. Waitress lady with big earrings always smiles in the most charming way.

Our group of 7 (including 3 children) enjoyed our dinner at El Loro!

Note that there are two sides (the road side which is a covered mostly indoor set up, and the beach side which is an outdoor open air bar type setting right on the water).

Based on the reviews and overall rating, my expectations weren’t very high. That said, I ended up being pleasantly surprised by the food we ate. Our kids got the chicken tenders and fries (can’t really go wrong there, but they actually were good!), the adults got a steak dish, fried rice with chicken and lobster. All the meals did not disappoint. My fried rice was really tasty!

The mojitos were nice and strong and my mother in law said the (virgin) piña colada was the best one she had.

The setting was very entertaining as well, as we began our dinner at the middle of happy hour - so many patrons were stumbling out of and around the beach side of the restaurant. The music was an upbeat club like vibe, which was the first I had experienced anywhere so far during our vacation. The kids enjoyed dancing to it. Great for people watching! It did seem like most of the people there were staying at the hotel alisei across the street, but that was inconsequential. We timed our dinner with sunset, which was a great idea. The view is absolutely stunning at sunset from the beach side.

Would absolutely go back, one of the few places we ate at that I’d return to.

Comimos en una mesa en la arena muy cerca del mar! Fuimos con nuestro bebe y pusieron una trona para ella. El servicio fue rápido y todo estaba bueno. Además de unas buenas vistas! Para aparcar no tuvimos problema, había sitios cerca.

Bar e restaurante na praia bem agradáveis. A vista do bar no por do sol vale muito a pena.

We stayed close by and came here twice to use the pool! It’s a beautiful place and our son loved the kids pool. We loved the pool bar with the friendliest bar lady ever! Her name us Selia if I remember well. Try the Dominican Dream! Probably one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had - it’s with passion fruit. She also gave us sun cream for the boy as she feared he could get sun burned and made him a hot chocolate after he woke up from his nap and felt a bit cold!
I also had a bacon cheese burger which was nice, just the fries could have been better. Prices are reasonable

Very good pina colada at the beach, but tasted less good when we ordered the other day in the resto.

Instead of buddha bowl they didn’t have we took fried rise and veggie burger. The rise was over salty average, the burger had weird consistency. I would not recommend the food much.

Excelente servicio y alimentos! El personal esta altamente capacitado y cuida muy bien a sus huéspedes. 10 de 10.

We came with family of 8-9 people.

Mahi-mahi (dorado) was good.
Red snapper that I ordered grilled wasn’t fresh. It was hard to chew ‍
After we ordered drinks, we waited around 30 min to receive them.though only 1-2 tables were apart from ours.
I and some people became nervous and I reminded to the waitress about the drinks.it seemed that she forgot to ask the barman as she only then started preparing them.

Me encantó hospedarme en este aparta hotel, la comida es deliciosa y el trato de sus empleados y equipo es excelente, gracias por unas vacaciones inolvidables, pronto regreso.

Joli restaurant de plage MAIS service extrêmement long malgré très peu de monde, cuisine pas génial.
Je commande un plat de poulpe et le serveur me ramène de la dorade en m'expliquant qu'il sont en rupture.

Service déplorable, 1h30 d'attente pour des plats surgelés, je suis franchement déçu.

The El Loro also operates a very, very noisy beach club that keeps guests of the neighboring Hotel Alisei awake until 2 a.m. Respectless.

La peor experiencia gastronómica de mi vida. El pescado estaba viejo, tan cocido que ni siquiera se podía cortar con un cuchillo. ¡No podía comer! El precio.mejor termino aquí, un robo. Nunca recomiendo esto restaurante.

Le Budha Bowl est délicieux. Les légumes cuits à la perfections et savoureux à souhait. Le Chef Gabriel maîtrise l'art culinaire. Le personnel est sympathique et professionnel. Le piña colada parfaitement équilibré, frais et léger. Le décor est magnifique. Je recommande grandement ce restaurant.

Les Buddha bol préparé par le chef Gabriel le décor et le service mérites plus de 5 étoiles! Ne passez pas devant sans vous y arrêter

Very chill vibe. We sat by the beach. The drinks were good, beera were cold and coffee (cafe con leche) was amazing. We also had coconut water from freshly cut coconut.

Everyone enjoyed the food. Service was great.

Would come again.
