La Casita de Papi

Shared the shrimp and langostino plates with table of 4. Added a 3rd pasta plate and bread. Was fantastic. By DR standards it did cost, but worth it imo.

The food was fantastic and the service impeccable, the wait staff were truly magnificent.

We had the carpaccio and the ceviche as a starter, the langoustine and the tomato pasta as entrees and the banana flambe and profiteroles for dessert. Wine options were also very reasonable.

Overall a wonderful experience with lovely "feet in the sand" ambience.

Delicious and amazing service food. The French owner is always there check on the customer. Good mojitos too

Had the langoustines de Papi, utterly delicious! Fresh, beautifully spiced. It’s pricy but worth it!

Sin lugar a dudas el mejor sitio para comer o cenar en Cabarete.
Es simplemente ESPECTACULAR.
Menú reducido y súper especializado, Fe corazón te digo que vas a alucinar.
Si tienes la suerte de poder reservar para cenar, con todo el encanto de sus luces y con los pies en la playa, entonces la experiencia es ya incomparable.
Magnifico servicio y extraordinariamente rápido para lo que es Cabarete en general.

Bel endroit super nourriture excellente seul bémol nous étions 5 personnes et une seule facture par table (pas le choix lol) 2 personnes payaient en pesos et 3 payaient en US.demeler cela avec taxe qui prend du vin bière etc + taxe.un calcul épouvantable et irritant.je suis allée a Cabarete y, a 16 ans et toujourd pareil.a ce resto entre autre n, ont pas évoluer depuis.dommage

It its definitely a vibe. The tables on the Beach in the sand is not my thing but the Food was great according to my family because I am Vegan this place had no idea what Vegan food was and that was Annoying. The music coming from the bar next door was cool. My meat eating fam gave it a 5 but because they had no idea what Vegan is and no Vegan options and beach bugs in the sand I was not impressed. So I give it an OK.

We wandered into this spot on a rainy afternoon for lunch. Three folks, one vegetarian, and we had an awesome meal!

My friend and I both went for the prawns “a la papi” while our vegetarian friend had a pasta dish with tomato and basil. Prawns were HUGE and served in a pot of delicious yellow (saffron? Turmeric? Idk) sauce. Prawns came with choice of side - I had linguine. I had a perfectly refreshing passion fruit juice to wash it down.

We were the only people there at first, but place filled up as we ate. Great beachside location, and covered from the rain. Delicious! Would absolutely recommend!

The service is a complete disaster, the waitress took 30 min to show up, the waitress then decided to get the order from the table next to us that had arrived 30min after us, when she was in between taking their order she realized we were waiting 30 min before! Ohh it doesn't end there. Then the table that arrived 30min after us yes received their food before us.at this point I just wanted to get my bill and go. We ordered 1 white sangria, 1 mojito, 1 mamajuana, prawns a la papi, salmon tartar, sea food mix sautéed and a perrier (total bill was 5000 pesos). We tipped the worst waitress ever 500 pesos.

Dommage la dorade n’est pas fraîche c’est du surgelé Très cher pour ce que c’est en fait on paye le cadre et sans parasol donc prévoyez vos crèmes solaires d’ailleurs les autres restaurants ont des parasols quid

If it weren't for the tasty food I would've given it 0 stars.
My family and friends went to Casita de Papi to celebrate my birthday, we were a group of 10+ people.
The food was good, the drinks were good the service was also okay right till before the end.

Long story short, when we received the bill, we noticed it was on the higher end of what we expected. Given we were a larger group and had a higher number of things ordered, it took a while to understand why it was so high.

In summary, they added to our final bill, food we did not order and they've also charged us for double the number of most expensive plates we ordered.
The final bill ended up being 50% over what we were supposed to pay.

Of course we pointed out the issue and they fixed it.

Even though this annoyed us, and had my doubts about leaving any tip, we decided to leave a 10% tip (the food was tasty). When the waiter counted the money, instead of thanking us, she complained we did not tip a larger sum!

Advice: for a larger bill, double check everything they charge you for! It's very easy to not notice.

This will be the last time we all go there.

A penas me senté me pararon de la mesa, por que según estaba reservada… cuando había 5 mesas más vacías. Después de caminar todos los restaurantes para decidir me lleve esta experiencia y el trato del camarero fue fatal. Me parece que deben instruirlos mejor por qué esto es zona turística. Y yo como turista me pareció un mal trato.

Bonne bouffe, bon service, directement sur la place, repas pour 2 avec vin pas en bas de 100$ donc quand même cher.

La comida muy deliciosa, el lugar espectacular a orilla del mar y la atención muy buena. Es perfecto para ir en familia, para celebrar fechas especiales y disfrutar de ese hermoso paisaje mientras disfrutas tu cena.

La Casita de Papi delivered a great service. The waiter was very attentive and spoke English. The shrimp or langostinos with their signature sauce is something you should not miss testing out?

Delicious food, the service could be more swift but the place is a total vibe so waiting for the food is worth it. Fresh fresh and tasty! The langostines a la papi come in a yummy creamy turmeric “curry” sauce. Ceviche is fresh and the drinks are also good! The piña colada “be la fruta” is the best piña colada experience you’ll have in DR!

Ça fait plus de 25 ans que je vais la mais de puie 2 ans c'est plus comme avant je vien de souper langoustine et je vous jour pour moi c'est la dernière fois jais voumi en arrivant chez moi la super bonne crème pas mangable le ketchup aurait faite plus l'affaire très déçu ne dépense pas votre argent la je ne recommande pas ce restaurant

I’ve been there multiple times in the years - during my last stay (few days ago) I’ve been there twice.
I don’t know if because there are less tourists around these days, but they got better with service - definitely quicker.
The prawns a la papi (or the langostine when they have) really deserve the trip! Mindblowing!
The other things in the menu are hit or miss, but to be honest if there is something which is not ok let one of the owners know - someone is always there to check. They will take care, they are really professional.
The atmosphere, the beach, the secret sauce make eating at La Casita de Papi an unforgettable experience.
