Gokite Cabarete Kiteboarding School

Great experience at GoKite. Yunior was a great instructor, adapting to my learning rate and always giving targeted feedback instead of overwhelming me with tips.

I took the 3 day course. They were very honest and transitioned me to supervised rental (cheaper than courses) as soon as they deemed me ready. Although supervised rental was with a teenager who didn’t speak English, the instructor was still on the beach and gladly gave me tips when I asked.

However, GoKite no longer has a fixed place in the beach. This means you can’t store belongings there and access to the beach is tough as most access points are private (other kite schools or hotels). I had to sneak through different private paths every day.

Overall, I strongly recommend this professional kite school.

I had an excellent experience with GoKite. Richard the owner is very attentive and communicated with me well. My instructor, Pedro was excellent. Wish I could've stayed longer to practice more. I highly recommend GoKite to anyone that wants to learn.

Learning a new sport of any type can be challenging. Finding a place to learn can be even more daunting. I can tell you as a life ling athlete, now in middle 40’s, to take on a new sport, ruled by wind & water, I was not sure what to expect. Our experience with Richard, Gabriel, Agusto & Junior was so good, we are bringing our you g daughter back in 2 months to learn from them! Their process, patience, and methodology was spot on. More importantly, they made it fun, listened and it felt like being part of a team versus taught. And this is a tough sport, unlike most. You can not go wrong with this group. Can’t wait to be back!

Just spent two weeks in Cabarete learning to kite. The crew at GoKite we're excellent! Gabriel was my main teacher and was patient, knowledgeable and a great instructor. Also spent an afternoon with Junior who was awesome as well. Easy to communicate with everyone at GoKite and they are totally flexible around your schedule (wind cooperating of course). Kite Beach is super fun but it does get very crowded and the water area for learning can feel a bit small when you are getting dragged around figuring out how to stay up. But it's also very learner friendly and the experienced kiters are welcoming. There are many many options for kiting schools in Cabarete. I'm very glad I chose GoKite! I plan to come back soon!

I signed up to learn how to kite. Have never kited before. In four days Junior had me riding upwind and downwind as well as transitioning without having to sit in the water like a turtle. I now feel confident to go out and ride with my friends back home.

Aside from the excellent instructional environment, GoKite also has an excellent location on kite beach. Other schools were located in Cabarete Bay, and I could tell by walking by that students there were being beat up by the suboptimal conditions.

If you are serious about learning to kite in an ideal environment, just hit these guys up.

I had such a great time here! Their trainer Junior speaks perfect English and is very knowledgeable, encouraging and patient. The owner Richard went above and beyond his way to help with the transportation and any questions you have. I was able to ride by myself after 7 hrs of training and I felt so accomplished awesome! Gokite Cabarete was very responsive with our initial inquiries and all the arrangements from start to finish.
Richard, Gabriel, Yunior, Pedro and Yunior were fantastic, great instructors and quickly became friends as well. Everyone was Incredibly friendly, extremely knowledgeable and professional - they made the entire process fun! The Step by step instructions were tailored to each person and capabilities. Safety stressed throughout the process- very much appreciated and incredibly important for us beginners.
TOTALLY Recommend Richard and the entire crew at Gokite Cabarete for anyone interested in Kiteboarding. Couldn't have had a better crew or experience! Plan on returning as soon as possible!:)

Estuvimos yo y mi pareja haciendo clases de kite con Junior y Pedro a través de Richard, que es quien lo lleva. Lo recomiendo 100%. Llevaba tiempo sin mejorar y gracias a ellos ya puedo decir que puedo ser autónoma. Trato excelente y muy buena enseñanza. Se nota que quieren que mejores y están acompañándote todo el tiempo insistiendo para que no repitas los mismo errores. Richard además nos dio facilidades a la hora de pagar.
En definitiva, volvería a hacerlo con ellos sin duda.

Can't stop praising Richard and his team! We went late August for a week of intro to kitting with two kids aged 13 and 15. The team at Gokite made the experience priceless! Truly remarkable. The team would go the last mile to ensure you have a great learning experience. Attentive, caring, with the right positive attitude. Wow! And the Punta Rucia trip is a must! (see pictures) Miles of deserted, shallow beach just for you! To me the big trophy at the end is seeing my two kids actually riding! I know they have the bug now and we will all come back for more!

Junior was a great instructor and Richard was very helpful and flexible with the coordination! I very much recommend Gokite, the classes were safe and professional, and the equipment was of high quality.

What a fun week it was training with this friendly and proffessional staff! Richard is very accomodating and easy to work with. And my instructor Gabriel is simply amazing: knowledgeble, patient, helpful and fun. We will deffinitely go back for more lessons!

Dont bring anything - Richard and his crew got you covered. These guys have a world wide following for a reason - this is the best place for equipment on the best beach for kiteboarding. When you think about kite beach, think GoKite. Prices are low

A great spot and a fantastic school. The guys of the staff are amazing, so helpful, professional and kind. I'll definitely come back and recommend this place to all my kitesurfing friends.

Great experience with Gokite Cabarete! In 1 week with them I went from someone who can barely waterstart to an independent kitesurfer. They also helped my girlfriend to progress a lot. The staff is very responsible, helpful, friendly and they definitely know what they are doing. Richard, the owner, is very accommodating and trying to make sure that every client has a good experience. After our lessons we had unlimited supervision for a couple of days as a part of our package and he would proactively message us every day to let us know that the wind is good and we should come. One advice for those who will take lessons/supervision - don't be shy to ask your instructors, assistants to try launch, carry, land the kite, check set-up, etc if you're trying to learn. They are trying to be helpful every second so if you want to become independent it's better to ask proactively ;)

I had a great experience learning this very exciting sport! So much fun! Ramon, my one on one instructor, was patient and got me quickly understanding the kite movements. Gokite was organized and professional. Go learn kite boarding at GoKite!

Great Kite school with perfect location on kite beach. The team has been amazing with us, super easy to reach out to, very flexible and easy going on top of great advices to improve your level.
Equipment is great and plenty of kite sizes to adapt to the wind of the day.
