Dressel Divers Puerto Plata

Had an amazing time! We work on a cruise ship and they organized a dive that worked with our time restraints. Sasha is an amazing dive guide and the whole team made it an unbelievable awesome experience.

Francesc and his team (Sasha and Felix) were great! We were staying at the Iberostar and looked at a couple of other dive operators online. There are some that looked good and many that looked like a "one man" operation. Francesc and his team all have many years of diving experience in Dominican and abroad, so we went with them.and they were at the same resort.

It was super convenient. We have three teenaged kids that aren't very experienced and we were able to try on all the rental equipment the day before and go over what the dive would be like. Apparently, they used to have a boat that left from the resort, but being closed during the pandemic they sold the boat. Dressel brought us to Sosua Bay on an "open" truck. It was a bit of an adventure and we got to see some of the country as we drove through a few small towns on the way.

There was another group of experienced divers with us. When we got to Sosua Bay, we split into two small boats - Francesc was the divemaster for our family, and the other group had a dedicated divemaster (I believe his name was Felix). That was great, and our kids were more relaxed having a divemaster just for our family.

Like the truck ride, diving from the small boat was an adventure too! It was low luxury, high adventure!

We've been diving in a few other places in the world and the diving in Sosua won't blow your mind, but it was a good dive. The dives were close to shore with a max depth between 10m and 15m. Sandy bottom with coral heads, coral canyons, and coral gardens. Lots of small fish, fans, and some large barrel sponges. Visibility was OK, but not amazing because there had been some rain and high winds the days before.

We rented the equipment, and like all rental equipment, it's been well used but worked fine.

During our stay at the Iberostar, I noticed Dressel also brought people snorkeling and they had at least one group doing either dive certification or refresher certification.

It wasn't the ideal weather for diving (winter) when I went to Puerto Plata.
Fortunately Francesc (the manager of the Dive Center) did everything to make it possible. He helped me to enjoy to the fullest. Unforgettable dives in Sossua and in front of the hotel.
I saw a baby shark, an octopus, big lobsters, lion fish and much more.
Thanks Sasha, Félix and specially Francesc for the diving and to let me passed wonderfull moments in the sea.

Felix was an informed and attentive dive master. The diving was fun but, as with much of the coral reefs in the Caribbean, they have been affected by climate change.
Went for a second day in a different area of Sosua Bay. The visibility was excellent and there were corals that were flourishing. So happy to see

Had a nice experience during our intro dive. We were a group of three for the intro and one more experienced diver.

Sometimes the crew hassled a little bit, but otherwise very professional services.

Did my open water certification dives and a refresher in the pool with Nacho at dressel divers. I had a bit of anxiety going into it but Nacho made me feel at ease. Amazing instructor and awesome dives. Can’t wait to go again. Thanks Nacho

Perfect staff, very helpfull, we have finished open water diver course here and they were staying late so that we can finish on time. We got a great discount as well. Everybody is so nice, starting with our instructor Jose Blanco, then Andrea, Sasha. We are very satisfied, and we will definitelly dive again with them.

We Stayed at the V Heaven's (about a 15min walk on the beach) they arranged to pick us up on the first day due to us having to hull our own gear around and drop us off on the last day with no extra cost. The whole team was great very friendly making you feel very welcome and just like "family". "Black Shark" our guide was very professional when planning our dive and when we were out diving and just fun the rest of the time. The crew on the boat were super friendly, helping whenever you needed it.
I would highly recommend this dive shop if you're anywhere in the area and want to go diving.

I had the pleasure of diving with Dressell Divers Puerto Plata in December 2017. From the moment I first got to the center to arrange times for my prepaid dives I felt like I has been a client of theirs for years. Andrea looked after mall my arrangements and was terrific at the Dive Center. All staff members where very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and outgoing. A very special thanks to the Black Shark and the Captain for great dive trips and making the complete experience a time of great memories. I shall return
