Bobo Surf 's Up Surf school

I took 2 surfing lessons and both were beyond my expectations. Bobo and his team are both knowledgeable and good at coaching, knowing which component to focus on and providing the direction to stay focused.
They also focus more on small numbers per in water instructor.

When I return to the Dominican Republic I will definitely return for more lessons.

If you are looking to surf with someone who has patience, experience, know how and passion Bobo is ideal for you. I came with a 2 families with 4 kids from 10 to 15… and a wife who gets nervous very easily. To my surprise, everyone had a great time. Bobo and his team were fantastic

Bobo is the best instructor! After just one lesson, my surfing has improved considerably. Plus he has hella style in and out of the water. Hit him up, you won’t regret it!

J’avais lu les très bons avis qui me rassuraient même si j’appréhendais tout de même de boire la tasse, de tomber sans arriver à me lever et de ne pas prendre de plaisir.
Rien de tout ça! J’ai réussi à me lever dès la première vagues! Et j’ai tellement pris de plaisir durant les 2h de cours! J’y retourne demain et les jours suivants!

I did not plan to go surfing when arriving in Cabarete as I took part in a 5-day-course in France years ago. During that course I did not manage to even get up on the board once, even I believe my physical fitness was way better in those times. So as I watched the ocean in Cabarete i thought everything in life deserves a second chance and I started a research. Cabarete is packed with schools. I contacted Bobo and agreed on a lesson You never know in advance what you get when you book online. I met Bobo at Encuentro Beach. He asked for my goal and I told him I would be happy to stand on the board for a second. He smiled and we started. What should I tell you? He made me get up ob the board within a few minutes in the water (before we did some theory). I could not believe it. So I went for 3 lessons with him.
It was awesome. I cant put down in words how thankful I am for this inspiring man. Believe me, he knows what he is talking about.

If I ever come back to Cabarete I will go directly back to surfing with him.

Bobo is the best surf instructor that I have ever had. If you want to level up your surfing he will definitely show you how to improve and he will work with you on your weaknesses!
Can only recommend to surf with him, as he pays attention to all the small details which other instructors may not bother to explain or point out (or not even know / recognize)

We did amazing surf sessions with Bobo teacher at Bobo Point in encuentro beach. We did 9 days (4 lessons and 5 days at exercises) which show us how amazing surfing is.

I had some experience in surfing in other spots in the world but never had such a great teacher as him. He move us to another level. Of course there is a lot of things to work on, we will work on that, but we know much more. His way is outstanding, including ocean respect and all things surfing is about. On the other hand he offer us very attractive price package for all sessions with flexible time schedule that we make lesson, excersise, rest, lesson again, etc.

I highly recommend Bobo as surfing teacher! He is a absolutely a legend. You will make progress anyway, doesnt matter if you are beginner or more pro ‍️

After talked with Bobo by phone call, decided to travel to Cabarete for a few days just to learn surf, i was looking for a person to work with me one on one and to teach me the real sense of Surfing, and wow, theres was so much more than i through.

During the surf curse Bobo explain me some of the techniques he has developed over the years to get your mind set and enjoy every wave you take as much posible.

As i was getting better, he also teach me the basics surf protocols in the lineup, safety techniques when things can go wrong and surfboard handling in/out side the water.

I couldn’t be more happy and satisfied with the package Bobo offered me and all the knowledge, effort and patience he had through the days teaching me.

This is a surf guru and local legend who’ll do all he can to get you surf.

He is a master teacher and coach who is completely invested in his students. His surfing technique, teaching approach, and full-on dedication are beyond tops.

I did the 5 day class and continued with more bc they are so helpful. He paced my classes based on my needs giving me time to practice between classes. He also paired us with other students so we could learn from each other. If he saw me out practicing he’d send me corrections in the evening and checked-in between lessons. He even provided video for corrections.

He has a holistic approach like combining technique with breath which for me really gets to the heart of surfing.

If you want to learn to surf Bobo’s school is the real deal.

I was struggling to improve my surfing technique and in just one session with Bobo I improved dramatically. I ended up with far more lessons than planned just because I found it so valuable. Bobo’s been clearly teaching this for a while as he easily spots things that you need to improve on. Also the surf here is amazing!
